Grays started the brighter Jao Carlos had a header saved by Seb Brown and Joseph Zerafa fired wide before Bromley finally got going after a quarter of an hour.

Moses Ademola and Louis Dennis posed a real threat down the left and it was Ademola’s shot that was deflected wide for a corner on 19 minutes.FT9C1777 - Reece Prestedge heads Bromley into the lead

From the resulting corner Reece Prestedge bundled the ball home to put The Ravens in front. Soon after Jordan Robertson and Louis Dennis both had efforts saved by Connor Gough, carrying on his form from Saturday.

Referee Atkins awarded a penalty, but remarkably didn’t show Gough a card, after a long delay Robertson tucked away the spot kick to make it 2-0.FT9C1834 - Jordan Robertson makes it 2-0 from the penalty spot

Late on in the half Ali Fuseini hit the bar with a fierce drive from distance, while Grays also created chances with Carlos going close and Danny Waldren also clearing a corner off the line.

The second half saw Grays start better and again Freddie Ladapo shot wide and also forced a save from Brown.

Bromley got going again with Ademola and Joe Anderson combining well to set up Fuseini who headed over.FT9C1879 - Adam Bailey-Dennis makes it 3-0

With The Ravens pressing they eventually made it 3-0 on 58 minutes when Waldren crossed for Adam Bailey-Dennis to head home off the bar.

As the game opened up again Ademola and Robertson combined to set up Dubois who was just off target with a clever flick while Chris Bryant forced a fine save from Brown at the other end.

The home side put the game beyond doubt on 70 minutes when Dennis crossed for Duncan Culley who scrambled the ball home via Gough.FT9C1863 - The rain falls at Hayes Lane

Then two minutes later the talented winger capped his performance with a superb goal, lobbing Gough from 30 yards to make it 5-0.

The visitors were awarded a penalty on 75 minutes, but Brown made affine save from Ladapo’s spot kick.

Sub Adam Birchall went close with a couple of chances and Grays kept going to their credit with Bryant, Carlos and Siva forcing saves from Brown, but they couldn’t find a way through.

 

Bromley now travel to Evesham in the next round, but before that they face Bath City at home in the league on Saturday and Corinthian Casuals in the London Senior Cup next Tuesday at Hayes Lane hoping to continue in this fine fashion.
