An incredible display of top quality finishing saw Bromley win out in the match up between the champions of Conference North & South at a packed Hayes Lane on Non-League Day.
The game got off to a cagey start with both sides moving the ball round well, but not really creating clear chances.
The Ravens broke the deadlock on 17 minutes when a Joe Anderson crossed was cleared for a corner. Anthony Cooks’ dead ball from the right was headed towards goal by Rob Swaine and deftly flicked past the keeper by Jack Holland.
With Bromley now beginning to make an impact on the Barrow defence they went 2-0 up on 24 minutes as Cook ran the ball through Barrow’s midfield before creating space on the edge of area and sending an unstoppable drive over Joel Dixon.
The tempo of the game slowed to almost walking pace for a while, Moses Emmanuel had a chance cleared and then in the final stages of the half Barrow his a decent spell of possession, but were repelled by the solid Bromley defence marshalled by a rejuvenated Rob Swaine.
The second half got off to the perfect start for the home side Emmanuel drew three defenders just outside the area before playing in Reece Prestedge who received the ball on the move coolly chipped the ball over Dixon for 3-0.
Louis Dennis went close soon after, firing the ball just over after a great run while the visitor’s only real chance came when Andy Haworth headed over a cross from the left.
Just after the hour The Ravens went four up, this time Prestedge played in Emmanuel who beat Dixon from a tight angle with a fiercely struck finish.
Dennis was denied by a brave save from Dixon as the keeper pushed the ball away from his feet and Brad Goldberg had a shot saved which came out to Dennis whose lob from thirty five yards was headed off the line by Danny Livesey.
Barrow’s Anthony Wilson shot wide as the visitors again had a spell of pressure, but late on Bromley made it five with the best goal of the game when Dennis surged through the away defence and curled a spectacular shot over Dixon from twenty yards and into the top corner of the net.
In injury time Holland set up Goldberg who was again denied by Dixon, but Bromley ran out comfortable winners against a strangely blunt Barrow who never really got going.
The Ravens move back up to fifth with this win and face the in form Cheltenham Town at Hayes Lane on Tuesday night hoping to keep this amazing recent run of results going.
