Bromley picked up a valuable three points in an entertaining game at Hayes Lane in very wet conditions against a strong Maidenhead side, moving up to third in the process.
The visitors started the game brighter with Stefan Brown forcing two saves from Seb Brown, but Bromley battled back with Moses Ademola having an effort deflected over.
The Ravens settled and took the lead on 13 minutes when Ademola played in Ali Fuseini who hit a superb finish in off the far post for 1-0.
The lead only lasted two minutes though as on the next attack The Magpies equalised when Eddie Hutchingson hit a low effort past Brown. Bromley responded with Fuseini setting up Ademola who fired narrowly wide and Danny Waldren was also just off target soon after.
Maidenhead thought they had taken the lead when Dave Tarpey headed home at the far post, but his goal was ruled out for pushing.
The visitors had the best of the final stages, but could only manage a couple of wild efforts. Then in first half injury time The Ravens were awarded a free kick out wide when Bobby Behzadi flattened Damien Scannell. Joe Anderson sent in a superb free kick and Ademola headed powerfully home for 2-1 at the break.
The second half took a while to settle down with Tarpey shooting just wide on The Magpies first attack, before a long spell of scrapping in the midfield.
Then on 59 minutes Bromley extended their lead when Anderson sent in another great dead ball this time for Waldren to head home for 3-1.
The game wasn’t over yet though as Maidenhead pulled things back to 3-2 when Tarpey finished off a great passing move with a cool finish from ten yards out on 73 minutes.
The Magpies then had a sustained spell of pressure looking for an equaliser, but Bromley held out with Mark Goldberg throwing on an extra defender and then in injury time they sealed victory as Ademola and Reece Prestedge combined to set up Jamie Slabber who finished powerfully when one on one with Elvijs Putnins for 4-2 his first goal in a Bromley shirt.
This was a win that showed great character and fighting spirit from The Ravens who will now travel to Wealdstone on Saturday looking to consolidate their place in the play off spots.
