Bromley recorded their third win in a row with an impressive display against play off chasing Barrow at Hayes Lane on Good Friday.
The Ravens started on the front foot from kick off, but Barrow had the first attempt on goal when Jordan Williams fired just over on a quick break up field.
Bromley continued to have the better of things and went in front on 9 minutes when Blair Turgott’s corner was headed home by George Porter from six yards out.
Tobi Sho-Silva nearly made it two soon after but his powerful shot was tipped on to the bat by Jon Flatt who then gathered the rebound.
Barrow drew level though on 17 minutes when Conor Dymond made a clumsy tackle on Williams for a penalty and Ritchie Bennett tucked away the spot kick.
Parity only lasted four minutes though as Bromley were awarded their own penalty when Turgott was too quick and tricky for Danny Livesey who brought him down on the bye line just inside the box.
Turgott stepped up himself to smash home the spot kick to make it 2-1 to The Ravens.
Barrow had a good spell after going behind again Bennett had a goal bound shot blocked by Jordan Wynter and from the corner he headed just over.
The game swung further into Bromley favour on 34 minutes when Bennett fouled Porter and Turgott sent in the free kick from out wide to Lee Minshull at the far post who nodded the ball to Sho-Silva to head home from close range.
Bennett was again in trouble soon after when he hit Minshull late off the ball and received a yellow card.
The second half saw Neil Smith’s men start well again and after a spell of pressure on the Barrow penalty area, the ill tempers from the first half spilled over into a pushing match which Referee Hicks managed to defuse.
After a quiet spell Bromley got going again in the final quarter, Shane McLoughlin showed some great foot work to set up Turgott, but his shot was well saved by Flatt and then Barrow rallied with Akil Wright having a header saved from a set piece and Moussa Diara having a header blocked in front of goal by Dymond.
In the final five minutes The Ravens completed the win when McLoughlin broke clear of the visiting defence and hit a powerful shot which Flatt could only parry to Sho-Silva who notched his second for the match beating the keeper from twelve yards.
Barrow’s frustrating afternoon was capped by two of their defenders squaring up to each other following the goal who had to be separated by their team mates.
This was a great attacking display from Neil Smith’s side who played attractive attacking football with no pressure on them and with four up front when going forward, which Barrow couldn’t live with.
The Ravens now travel to Eastleigh on Monday before hosting Guiseley next Saturday.
