Bromley continued their positive start to the season with a stylish display against newly promoted Whitehawk at Hayes Lane on Tuesday night.Bromley

The Ravens scored four and totally dominating the ninety minutes.

Despite their well funded squad The Hawks failed to really get going and only offered long diagonal balls over the full backs as their sum total of creativity. Bromley’s robust backline comfortably dealt with the tactic and rarely looked troubled.

Going forward The Ravens were impressive from the start with Bradley Goldberg setting up Pierre Joseph Dubois who shot just wide early on.

On 15 minutes Steve Smith forced a save from Chris Winterton in the visiting goal with a fierce swerving effort and Bromley took the lead from the resulting corner when Brendan Kiernan’s cross was headed goal wards by Rob Swaine only for Richard Rose to head the ball into his own net under pressure from Dubois.

Whitehawk captain Matt Lawrence nearly scored an own goal soon after deflecting a shot towards goal that Winterton tipped round the post, but from the corner Kiernan set up Jay May who powerfully headed home from 12 yards to make it 2-0.

Three minutes later it was 3-0 when Kiernan again was the supplier this time crossing for Goldberg who volleyed home spectacularly from the edge of the box.

With Bromley in complete control the clearly rattled visitor’s captain and former Millwall player Lawrence launched an awful challenge on Goldberg and was rightly booked.

Late in the half Tommy Fraser had Whitehawk’s first shot on target which Lewis Carey saved to keep the score 3-0 at the break.

The second half saw Bromley sit a little deeper initially and look to control the midfield, but after some attacking changes on the hour they pressed again.

May had an effort saved before another Kiernan set piece fell to Dubois who finished from close range making it 4-0 on 65 minutes.

Kiernan went close himself soon after firing just over from distance before the game drifted to a finish with The Hawks closest efforts seeing Michael Boateng fire narrowly wide and Carey saving from David Da Silva’s free kick.

This was an excellent team display from Mark Goldberg’s new side who will look ton continue their winning start at home to Tonbridge Angels on Saturday.
