Bromley picked up their first League Two win in six games with a comprehensive victory over a struggling Accrington Stanley side at Hayes Lane on Saturday afternoon. Stanley failing to trouble Grant Smith throughout the entire match, not registering a shot on target.

The Ravens got off to a positive start, putting Stanley under pressure with a series of corners, Danny Imray causing problems down the right and Cameron Congreve on the left.
Michael Cheek hit the underside of the bar from a Congreve cross, but it wasn’t until the 28th minute that Bromley finally took the lead when a free kick came out to Congreve just outside the area and he drove the ball through a crowd of players and under keeper Billy Crellin to make it 1-0.
Crellin then made a good save with his feet from Cheek soon after after good work by Ben Thompson and he then repeated the same save to deny Imray as The Ravens continued to press. Late in injury time with Cheek about to score from another Congreve ball, Ben Woods made a great saving tackle at the far post to keep it at 1-0.
The second half saw Bromley continue to look the brighter and they were awarded a penalty on 56 minutes when a cross from the right by Imray was clearly handled by Faz Rawson in the box.

Cheek smashed home the spot kick despite Crellin getting a hand to it to make it 2-0. There was a brief rally from Stanley after that, Shaun Whalley sending a free kick narrowly wide, but if didn’t last very long. Bromley went 3-0 up on 69minutes when Kamarl Grant sent in a superb ball from the right and Thompson headed home powerfully at the far post.
With Accrington struggling to get anything going forward, they conceded a fourth on 75minutes again from the penalty spot, when Devon Matthew handled a Grant cross and Cheek scored his twenty second goal of the season this time blasting the ball to Crellin’s left for 4-0.
Late on sub Nicke Kabamba almost opened his Bromley account with a solo effort that Crellin deflected wide and Jude Arthurs headed over from the resulting corner, but in the end it was a very comfortable afternoon’s work for Andy Woodman’s men who move up to twelfth in the League Two table, while Stanley are now just six points above the relegation zone.
