Bromley secured a vital three points with a fantastic display for an hour before they hit the panic button and nearly threw the game away only holding on thanks to a Joe Welch penalty save.
The game started with Bromley playing some very attractive passing football and putting the visitors under pressure.
Tony Finn shot just wide, Pierre Joseph-Dubois, Richard Pacquette and Elliott Buchanan all went close, but Maidenhead also missed a great chance when Reece Tison-Lascaris’ shot was parried by Welch into the path of Bobby Behzadi who scuffed his shot wide in front of an open goal.
Dubois had an effort saved by Jessie Joronen before The Ravens finally went in front on 25 mins when Danny Waldren hit a powerful low drive into the bottom corner of the net for 1-0.
Pacquette had a header from close range saved after great work by Tony Finn before it became 2-0 on 41 mins when Waldren’s free kick took a deflection off the wall wrong footing Joronen and leaving the home side well set at the half.
The second half saw Bromley start well again Dubois was denied by Joronen before Finn’s shot was turned into Pacquette’s path who finished well for 3-0 on 56 mins.
Then came the meltdown, Moses Swaibu harshly had a penalty awarded against him only for Behzadi to have his spot kick saved by Welch.
Maidenhead took heart though and soon after Leon Solomon hit the post, before they made it 3-1 on 70 mins when Paul Semakula headed home a deep cross.
Behzadi was denied again by Welch before Chris Flood headed in another good Harry Pritchard cross to make it 3-2 three minutes later.
Ali Chaaban had a shot saved by Joronen, but the visitors had the best of the final minutes with David Pratt firing wide and Pritchard shooting wide and also forcing a save from Welch.
The Ravens just held on though and can now head up to Fleetwood for the FA Cup with the pressure of relegation slightly lifted.
