Following Saturday’s stalemate In the battle between The Ravens and The Angels it was the Bromley who came out on top and progressed through to the first round of the FA Trophy with a comfortable replay win at a cold Hayes Lane on Tuesday night.
The Ravens started well with Moses Ademola firing over before they took the lead on 5 minutes when Louis Dennis’ cross was turned into his own net by former Bromley defender Jerrome Sobers.
Tom Parkinson had a header saved for The Angels, before Jordan Robertson forced a save from Tom Hadler and then fired over soon after.
Bromley continued to press with Damien Scannell, who had replaced the injured Pierre Joseph-Dubois early on, having a goal bound shot blocked and Ali Fuseini shooting over the bar.
Alex Teniola had an effort saved by Seb Brown on a rare Tonbridge attack, while Danny Waldren and Robertson both went close as the game became more scrappy and stretched.
Just before half time Ademola set up Robertson with a perfect cross, but the striker managed to turn the ball wide of the post from close range.
The second half started in low key fashion and it wasn’t till well after the hour mark that things got going again, Ademola and Fuseini combined well on the edge of the box before Ademola was brought down by Chris Piper for a penalty on 68 minutes.
Ademola tucked the spot kick away in style to make it 2-0 sending Hadler the wrong way.
Then the game was put beyond doubt five minutes later when Dennis played in Ademola who crossed for Jamie Slabber to turn the ball in at the far post.
Late on Adam Burchill had two efforts well saved by Hadler as the former Gills striker still struggles to find form.
Bromley now face Leiston at home on 13 December in the next round after this routine yet un-spectacular victory over a hard working Tonbridge side.
