Bromley 3-0 Gateshead
Bromley 3-0 Gateshead

A stunning last fifteen minutes of football from The Ravens saw them record an impressive win over their fourth placed visitors in front of another good crowd at Hayes Lane.

Gateshead started the game on top with Danny Johnson, Patrick McLaughlin and Ramsden all going close.

Bromley battled their way back into things with Brad Goldberg having a shot blocked by Ben Clark and Anthony Cook curling a shot just over.

Both sides had spells of pressure with Bromley going close when Moses Emmanuel crossed for Alex Wall who hit the bar with a side foot volley.

Late in the half Heed created some good chances, but Ravens keeper Alan Julian was in fine form twice denying Ryan Bowman, with Johnson & McLaughlin both putting efforts wide.

Bromley made a much more impressive start to the second half with Goldberg & Cook forcing a saves from Sam Russell.

Craig Baxter hit a fierce effort just wide for the visitors before Goldberg again was lively intercepting a back pass and putting his shot just over the bar.

Josh Gillies forced another great stop from Julian before the game turned in Bromley favour on 69 minutes when Louis Dennis replaced Goldberg and Emmanuel was allowed to go up front.

Emmanuel was denied by Russell soon after, Max Porter had a header cleared off the line and Cook went close before the deadlock was finally broken on 76 minutes.

Dennis played in Emmanuel with a superb pass and last season’s top scorer found the net with a cool chip over the advancing keeper.

Emmanuel was denied by Russell soon after before Dennis made it 2-0 on 84 minutes when the winger cut in from the wing and smashed the ball home from just inside the box.

Dennis went close again as Bromley looked a side invigorated and full of confidence and the seal on the victory came in injury time when Emmanuel latched on to an Ali Fuseini through ball, beat the defence for pace, took the ball round the keeper and rolled the ball home for his fifth goal of this campaign.

A goal of such quality that it was even applauded by a number of the travelling support from the North East.

This win will go a long was to helping Mark Goldberg’s side feel settled in the National League and they will look to keep the momentum up next Saturday at home to Macclesfield.
