A strong second half display from The Ravens saw them record a win over their Premier League neighbour’s under 23s side, at Hayes Lane on Saturday with goals from Michael Cheek and two from a trialist.

Bromley dominated the game for long spells throughout the afternoon, although the impressive Eagles left back Tayo Adaramola did have a goal ruled out for offside after a strong run and cut into the box and Corey Whitely made a great tackle to deny Danny Imray.

Liam Trotter went close for the home team after good work by Jude Arthurs, but it was all played at a very slow pace and play was often broken up by the referee’s whistle.

It was after the break that The Ravens turned possession into goals. Joe Partington had a header tipped over by Oliver Webber from a Luke Coulson corner and Couslon then crossed for Arthurs who headed narrowly wide.

With the rain falling down Coulson then had a drive from range go just wide soon after, before trialist No.25 set up Cheek for the opener on the hour, beating Webber from just inside the box.

There were eight substitutions for The Ravens on 70 minutes, but they continued to press Palace. The same trialist No 25 then went close after good work by Partington, firing over from six yards and he eventually scored twice on 75 and 90 minutes with a couple of smart finishes set up by other trialists, one who looked very familiar at No11, to secure the win for Andy Woodman’s squad against his former club, as Bromley prepare for the National League kick off against Grimsby Town on 21st August.
