Bromley 3-0 Cray Wanderers
Bromley 3-0 Cray Wanderers

In the annual game between Landlords and Tenants it was Bromley who came out on top this year with a comfortable win against a much changed Cray side which featured five former Bromley players and one current Academy member. Bromley

Bromley started with the majority of the play, but didn’t really create many chances up until Joe Anderson’s cross was headed over by Brendan Kiernan on 20 minutes.

Then a minute later The Ravens broke the deadlock when Rob Swaine header from a deep corner was saved by Andy Walker only for Jack Holland to turn in the rebound.

Warren McBean was denied by Walker soon after before Cray had a good spell going into the break. Ben Davisson had a fierce drive saved by Ben McNamara and Peter Wedgeworth was also denied by the Nuneaton loanee Keeper who came down on the train that afternoon.

The Ravens took the control of the second half within three minutes when Jay May broke free and smashed the ball past Walker at the near post for 2-0.

May, Steve Smith and Elliott Buchanan all went close before Smith made it 3-0 on 69 minutes with an unstoppable drive from distance which sailed into the roof of the net.

Reece Hall went close and Bradley Goldberg had a goal ruled out for offside before Cray who had made several changes created a couple of late chances with Louie Sprosen and Billy Bennett testing McNamara.

In the end Bromley were too strong for Cray who begin their Ryman League Premier Division campaign on Saturday at Leiston while Mark Goldberg’s men have to wait eleven days to begin in Conference South at Hayes & Yeading.
