Bromley got their pre-season campaign going with a decent display against a strong Crawley squad who they matched for the most part in an entertaining game.
There were many familiar faces making a return in The Ravens side and they started brightly with Warren McBean hitting the post.
For the visitors Gary Alexander had a penalty saved by George Howard, after Sanchez Ming had fouled Scott Neilson. Alexander & Neilson had efforts saved by Howard as the half went on, while Ali Chaaban shot wide for The Ravens just before the break.
The second half saw mass changes and Crawley take the lead on 63 minutes when Nick Adams headed home after some hesitant defending, they made it two shortly after through Jonte Smith’s cool finish before Ali Fuseini volleyed a reply to make it 1-2 on 67 minutes.
Crawley secured the win on 72 minutes when Billy Clarke hit a superb shot past Howard.
Danny Waldren hit one back for the home team with a curling free kick to make it 2-3 on 78 minutes, but they couldn’t grab an equaliser as The Red Devils held on.
