Bromley’s woes at home continued on Tuesday night against Woking, when they let a two goal lead slip with twenty minutes to go and had to settle for a point.
In swirling rain the game got off to a cautious start, with Neil Smith having made several changes to his starting line up including a debut for Jude Arthurs at right back, it took a while for things to settle down.
Woking had the best of the early play with Max Kretzschmar firing over and in general they had more possession of the ball.
Slowly Bromley came into things with Chris Bush’s long throws causing problems along with the set piece delivery of Frankie Raymond.
Half an hour in it was a Raymond free kick that helped The Ravens take the lead when his delivery from the right found Kory Roberts unmarked in the area to head home for 1-0.
Bromley pressed from there with Byron Webster heading a Bush cross wide and Raymond just off target with a free kick. Right on the break though Woking nearly drew level when Moussa Diarra saw his header from a free kick tipped over by Mark Cousins.
The second half got off to an open start, Kyran Lofthouse curled a shot over and Jack Goddard also went close for the visitors, while Bromley had a chance when Ben Williamson set up Charlie Wakefield whose shot was saved by Craig Ross.
As the pace stepped up even further Jack Bridge saw his shot saved by Ross at the near post following a strong run into the box and Williamson headed wide from the resulting corner.
Then on the hour The Ravens went 2-0 up when Wakefield, who had impressed all night, hit a low drive from 30 yards which evaded Ross and nestled into the corner of the net.
It was nearly three soon after when Roberts had a header cleared off the line by Ben Gerring and Bridge had a shot saved again by Ross.
Woking rang the changes from there, rallied and battled their way back into things. After a spell of pressure Diarra and Jack Cook combined to set up Jayden Wareham who converted from close range to make it 2-1.
Slavi Spasov had a shot saved by Cousins and then Roberts cleared a Malachi Nappa shot off the line following good work by Cook and Goddard. Bush went close with a free kick for Bromley on a rare break, but almost inevitably Woking made it 2-2 when Goddard’s shot was spilled by Cousins and Wareham converted the loose ball from close range to equalise.
From there the game was wide open, Woking went looking for the winner and Bromley dug in while looking to hit The Cards on the break. Nappa fired wide for Woking, before Bromley had one final chance when a break up field saw Williamson and Cheek combine to set up Courtney Duffus, but the striker fired straight at Ross and the game ended all square.
Bromley now look to their home game with Aldershot Town on Saturday evening to get their first win of 2021 and reignite their play off challenge.
