A sensational second half display from Alan Julian in the home goal saw Bromley hold on to their first half lead and record their first win of 2016.
In turn, it keeps some breathing space between themselves and the relegation zone against an impressive Woking side.
Bromley started the game brightly with Rhodell Gordon firing just wide on the games first attack, but after only 6 minutes The Ravens fell behind when a deep cross from the right was nodded down by Joseph Quigley to John Goddard who was unmarked and slotted the ball home from six yards.
The Ravens picked themselves up though with Moses Emmanuel setting up Gordon who forced a save from Jake Cole. The Cards keeper was on hand again soon after to deny Lee Minshull and as Bromley continued to press Joe Anderson hit the bar direct from a corner.
Then on 24 minutes The Ravens were gifted a penalty when inexplicably Cameron Norman pushed Adam Coombes in the box right in front of the referee.
Emmanuel stepped up to take the spot kick and despatched it past Cole with power straight down the middle.
Emmanuel forced a save from Cole soon after before playing a key role in the home sides second goal five minutes later. Emmanuel battled his way through several challenges on the edge of the box before directing the ball in the path of Adam Cunnington who sent a superb curling effort past Cole from eighteen yards for 2-1.
Quigley nearly evened things up with Woking’s next attacking lobbing Julian from outside the box, but his effort grazed the roof of the net. Bromley finished the half stronger though with Emmanuel going close again, Coombes just off target, Anderson firing over after a great pass from Emmanuel and Gordon heading over.
Emmanuel had one final chance when he raced through one on one with Cole, but his chip was well saved by The Cards custodian.
The second half was a completely different story, Quigley had two powerful efforts saved by Julian early on and the home keeper made another great stop from Mark Ricketts as the visitors piled on the pressure.
Bromley were reduced to the occasional break from defence and on one of these Lee Minshull found Emmanuel who again was foiled by Cole when one on one.
Woking continued to dominate with a series of corners that were either cleared of gathered by Julian and Quigley again hit a fierce shot that Julian did well to palm away.
The Cards were denied by some brave defensive blocks and latch ditch tackles on the edge of the box late on before Brad Goldberg missed the games final chance when breaking clear, but only firing tamely into the hands of Cole.
This win was a vital three points for Bromley and Neil Smith’s first in charge who was understandably delighted after the game praising his side’s effort and the support from the home crowd.
The Ravens now travel to Kidderminster Harriers next weekend looking to continue their revival.
