Bromley 2-0 Tooting & Mitcham

Bromley’s makeshift side booked their place in the semi final of the London Senior Cup with a win over Ryman League Division One Tooting at a very cold Hayes Lane on Tuesday night.Bromley

Tooting started the game on top with Carl Wilson-Dennis going close twice and Ashley Elson forcing a save from George Howard.

Bromley fought their way back into things and Elliott Buchanan had a free kick saved by Darren Behcet as they improved.

As both teams had chances late in the half Carlos Talbot made a fantastic saving tackle on Wilson-Dennis, while Buchanan and Max Noble forced saves from Behcet.

The second half saw Bromley look the livelier side as Gary Beckett had a header saved and Ishmael Welsh fired wide before the opening goal finally came on 70 mins when Buchanan volleyed home from 15 yards after good work by Beckett.

The game was put beyond doubt on 74 mins when Academy player Felix Ogeah raced clear and finished coolly past Behcet to make it 2-0.

Danny Waldren was denied by Behcet soon after as the snow fell, while Anthony Bardon had two efforts saved by Howard to preserve Bromley’s clean sheet and see the game out safely.

Bromley now travel to Ryman Premier Division Wingate & Finchley in the semi final hoping to take a step closer to winning their first trophy in six years.
