Bromley 1-3 Didcot Town
Bromley 1-3 Didcot Town

Bromley continued their nightmare November with a sixth consecutive defeat this one coming at the hands of Didcot a team two divisions below them who richly deserved their win.

From the kick off the visitors looked livelier and they took the lead on 18 minutes when Alex Stanley crashed home a superb effort.

Soon after Uchechukwu Ikpeazu forced a save from Tommy Forecast, but then Bromley were handed a lifeline when the Referee awarded them a penalty after Hakeem Araba had collided with Dean Santangelo when they both jumped for a high ball.

Danny Waldren tucked away the spot kick to equalise on 22 minutes. Bromley then had their best spell with Waldren going close twice, but Didcot then rallied, Marlon Patterson cleared one off the line before The Railwaymen went back in front on 44 minutes as Ikpeazu hit a sublime effort over Forecast from the edge of the box to put them back in front at the break.

Mark Goldberg switched to 4-3-3 in the second half, but to very little effect and they really missed the wide players.

Didcot made it 3-1 on 58 minutes when a cross from the left was headed home by Richard Pierson. Bromley managed some wayward efforts as the half went on the closest Being Araba’s saved effort and Bradley Goldberg’s goal bound shot that was cleared off the line, but there was no way through and the game was over when Waldren was sent off for a bad foul on Danny Seaward.

Didcot were worthy winners on the day and Bromley will somehow have to find a way back from an awful month of losses.
