Although they had one eye on next week’s FA Cup tie, Bromley had to keep a focus on their league position as they took on league leaders Salisbury at Hayes Lane.
They looked set to take a vital point right up until they conceded a heartbreaker in injury time.
The first half saw the visitors dominate for long spells and their pressure paid off on 31 minutes when Daniel Fitchett headed home a cross from the right.
The Ravens responded well though and levelled on 36 minutes when Elliott Buchanan hit a deflected shot into the top right hand corner of the net.
Late on Sanchez Ming shot narrowly wide and Daniel Fitchett missed an open goal for Salisbury after Joe Welch had saved from James White to keep the scores tied at the break.
The second half saw Bromley start well, Ming fired just over, but they lacked any real penetration.
With the play opening up both sides had chances White hitting the post for Salisbury with a header from inches out. The vital goal came in injury time after Moses Swaibu had been hurt clearing a ball, Bromley defended a corner with ten men and Brian Dutton lashed home the winner through a crowd of players.
This defeat left Bromley fans with de javu facing a relegation battle while doing well in the FA Cup.
