Bromley suffered their fifth consecutive defeat and were drawn into the relegation mire losing to fellow strugglers Hampton who were reduced to ten men on the hour, but still held out on Tuesday night at Hayes Lane.
To add insult to injury both the visitor’s goals came from Bromley players!
Hampton were in front on 2 minutes when a cross from the left was met by Rob Gillman who headed into his own net under pressure from Ledgister.
The visitors then hit the bar, but soon enough they were 2-0 up when on 17 minutes Lewis Taylor bizarrely scored into his own net, finding the corner of the net from just inside the box.
Bromley slowly improved and started to create their own chances with Rory Hill hitting the post before Aaron Rhule’s follow up was cleared off the line. Danny Waldren saw a good header hit the foot of the post before Taylor combined with Hakeem Araba who blasted the ball home for 1-2 right on half time.
Bromley started the second half well, but Hampton soon battled back, then on the hour The Beavers were reduced to ten men when Thurle first hacked down Orlando Smith who had to go off injured and then came back on the field after treatment without permission and was show a second yellow card.
The Ravens started to press and after Araba headed just wide, Hill was brought down by a crude challenge from Inman that looked to be in the box, but was ruled outside.
Hill then also had to limp off injured and was replaced by Bermudan International debutant Quadir Maynard. Bromley pressed, but there was no way through despite the tireless work of lone front man Araba.
Deep into injury time Hampton nearly made it three on the break, but Tommy Forecast denied Tarpey.
