These two sides will have to do it all again on Tuesday night in County Durham after a hard fought scoreless draw at Hayes Lane on Saturday afternoon where both sides had spells of pressure, but failed to make their chances count.
Spennymoor made the brighter start to the match, pressing The Ravens back early on and testing out the home defence.
It took twenty minutes for a nervous looking Bromley to get going and they finally created a chance when Frankie Raymond sent in a corner for Louis Dennis, but his low drive was cleared off the line by Kallum Griffiths.
George Porter fired over soon after, but the visitors then had another good spell. Home keeper David Gregory making three good saves from Glen Taylor, Andrew Johnson and Shane Henry as Moors got in behind the home defence.
Late in the half Bromley took the initiative with Luke Wanadio having a shot saved by Daniel Lowson follwoing good work by George Porter and Roger Johnson headed against the bar from the resulting corner.
Spennymoor suffered a blow going into the half when they lost centre back James Curtis after he was hurt sliding in to block a shot from Brandon Hanlan in the six yard box.
The second half saw Bromley dominate the play from the start, but on the break Moors came close when Robert Ramshaw beat Gregory, but his shot was deflected on to the post by Tyrone Sterling.
The Ravens pressed for a long spell, but all the created was one wayward Wanadio shot which sailed over.
Spennymoor continued to threaten on the break and Gregory was again on hand to keep The Ravens in the game when he made a double save from Ryan Hall and Taylor.
The game opened up and flowed from end to end for the final quarter. Moors’ Griffiths cleared another Bromley chance off the line from a corner and Lowson made a superb save from a Hanlan header after a series of corners from the home side.
At the other end Gregory was nearly caught off his line, but Ranshaw’s audacious chip from 40 yards sailed just wide of the post with the keeper scrambling back to his six yard box.
In the end neither side did enough to win the game or deserved to lose it, so they will try again at Spennymoor in three days time, weather permitting.
