Bromley completed their pre-season campaign with a draw against a young Chelsea side at Hayes Lane in an entertaining game on Saturday afternoon.
Bromley got off to a lively start, but it was Chelsea who had the first chance when Dylan Williams latched on to a slip by Omar Sowunmi, but his shot was saved by the trialist keeper.
Adam Marriott scuffed a chance wide for The Ravens before the pace slowed. Mason Burstow headed over for The Blues and also had a goal ruled out for offside. Harry Forster cut in from the left crossed for Marriott from the bye line, but he shot wide.
After a water break Bromley pressed again, with Billy Bingham setting up Corey Whitely who showed great feet to create space in the box and then finish into the corner of the net for 1-0. Whitely then set up Trialist 7 who fired wide from range.
The game opened up with chances at both ends, Bingham fired over twice for The Ravens, while Bromley trialist keeper made a great save from Williams. Leo Castledine fired over for The Blues, while Lewis Hall blacked a shot from Michael Cheek after great work by Whitely.
Chelsea closed the half out with good spells of possession, but Bromley held out and also caught the Blues off side when they did break through. The second half saw Bromley start well, Marriott set up Cheek whose shot was blocked.
A strong spell from The Ravens saw Marriott denied by Teddy Sharmen-Lowe who also made a save from Bingham after great build up play. Bingham hit the inside of the post with a free kick, but it was Chelsea who levelled up late on.
Jude Soonsup-Bell scoring with a brilliant free kick from 20yards out dropping the ball just inside the far post.
Andy Woodman’s team now start their National League season with a trip to Wealdstone next Saturday, still looking to sign a keeper and possibly one or two of the trialist who appeared today.
