Honours were shared in a very entertaining game between Bromley and the Charlton development squad.
The match was very much a game of two halves with Bromley bossing the first half and dictating the pace of the game, indeed the fact that Bromley did not go into the break more than a goal ahead was due in no small part to excellent goalkeeping by Nick Pope and wasteful Bromley finishing.
Twice in the first half Pierre Joseph-Dubois worked opportunities only for Pope to rise to the occasion.
While midway through the half Prestedge, Higgins and Ademola combined well only for Ademola to shank horribly wide with only Pope to beat.
The deadlock was finally broken courtesy of a collision between Pope and Prestedge, that Ademola was able to seize on with a calm sidefoot home.
A change of shape and personnel at half time led to a much improved Charlton performance with Rhys Browne in particular shining.
His jinking runs proved a constant threat to the Bromley defence with one run leading to Joshua Umerah scuffing his shot wide with the goal gaping.
Seb Brown then had to be at his best to deny Tareiq Holmes-Dennis before Bromley nearly punished Charlton when Ademola and Joseph-Dubois combined only for the latter’s shot to be smothered.
However, Charlton were to get their reward in injury time when Brown could only parry a long range effort into the path of Ollie Lee who made no mistake to level the scores.
