Bromley’s last home game of the National League season saw them play out a low key draw with Altrincham, conceding an equaliser late in the game to share the points at Hayes Lane on Tuesday night.
Possibly with an eye on the FA Trophy Final in 12 days time Andy Woodman made several changes to the Bromley side, with top scorer Michael Cheek not featuring along with Ali Al Hamadi and Corey Whitely only used as a late sub.
The game got off to an open start with play going from end to end, Isaac Marriott fired over for Alty, before Bromley took the lead on 16 minutes when Mason Bloomfield picked up the ball on the edge of the area and drove his low powerful shot into the far corner of the net to make it 1-0 to the home side.
From the kick off the visitors almost pulled level when Kole Hall headed over from close range, but The Ravens then had a strong spell of pressure as they looked to extend their lead.
Harry Forster saw his long range effort tipped away by Matthew Gould in the Altrincham goal, before Jude Arthurs went close twice, grazing the bar with a cross shot. Dan Mooney was just off target for Alty after a good spell of possession around the Bromley box, but the half finished with The Ravens pressing again.
Liam Trotter had one shot saved and was just off target with a hooked effort after a great pass from Forster, before Joe Partington hit the crossbar with a free kick from twenty yards out and then saw his shot from the rebound saved by Gould to keep it at 1-0 going into the break.
The second half started slowly, Arthurs fired over from long range, before Andy Woodman brought on Omar Sowunmi and Louis Dennis who were both returning from injury lay offs.
Trotter shot wide after connecting with a long throw from Chris Bush, but for the final quarter of the game it was Altrincham who had the better of things. Marriott shot wide and Jake Moult also went close as they pressed for an equaliser.
Bromley captain Byron Webster was hurt in a challenge with Ryan Morton and looked to be struggling, but all three subs had been made by then.
After another good spell of possession Altrincham finally drew level on 86 minutes when Eddy Jones set up Mooney who drove a long range effort low and hard into the far corner of the net to make it 1-1.
Both sides attempted to find a winner late on, but in the end they both had to settle for a draw, which leaves Bromley eleventh and Altrincham fourteenth.
The Ravens now travel to Barnet on Sunday to complete their league campaign head of the FA Trophy Final on 22nd May.
