Bromley picked up their first win of their pre-season campaign with a single goal victory over National League South Chelmsford at Hayes Lane on Tuesday night thanks to a first half goal from Michael Cheek.
The game got off to an open start with both teams getting the ball down passing it well.
After ten minutes it was Bromley who began to have the better of the play and put the visitors under pressure. Chris Bush had a powerful effort deflected wide, Billy Bingham hit a long range effort just over and Cheek had a shot saved by Lee Worgan in The Clarets goal.
The Ravens pressure finally paid off on 25minutes when a corner from a Trialist was headed down at the back post by Bush for Cheek to convert from close range.
Billy Crook went close for Chelmsford soon after and Cameron James volleyed over, but Bromley finished the half stronger when Bush and Ben Williamson combined to set up Cheek, but he fired wide when well placed.
The second half was a quieter affair, with very few chances and was broken up by numerous changes on both sides.
Chelmsford had some good spells of possession, but they were unable to trouble the Bromley back line marshalled by the impressive partnership of Byron Webster and Kory Roberts.
Bush who looked comfortable in his new role as left back went close with a long range strike and late on Liam Vincent fired wide after a strong run but the game ended 1-0 to The Ravens.
