Bromley scraped through to the next round of the FA Cup with a single goal victory over their Ryman League Division One South visitors who just lacked a little quality in front of goal.
The home side started the brighter with Dean Pooley, Ben Swallow and Rob Swaine going close, eventually taking the lead on 20 minutes when Shamir Mullings converted a low cross from Ben Swallow, sliding the ball under Alan Mansfield.
The Hillians responded, Curtis Gaylor hit the post with a free kick and also had an effort saved by Lewis Carey and Pat Harding missed great chance late in the half, while Mullings & Swaine both headed over for Mark Goldberg’s side.
The second half was a poor affair, Burgess Hill had the better of things, but failed to really test Carey in The Ravens goal, Max Lake Edwards coing closest when firing over.
Late on the game Bromley improved as Pierre Joseph-Dubois and Brendan Kiernan had a good efforts saved by Mansfield, but one goal proved to be enough to book a place in the next round which is drawn at noon on Monday.
