Bromley failed to beat ten man Dover at a wet Hayes Lane tonight in an entertaining, but frustrating game for the home fans.

Dover were in front on 4 minutes when Donovan Simmonds turned in the box and sweetly struck the ball past Tommy Forecast to give the Seasiders an early lead.

For long periods of the first half Dover kept possession of the ball really well, but they rarely created anything with it. Bromley came into the game later in the half with Danny Waldren going close and Hakeem Araba having an effort well saved by Mikheal Jaimez-Ruiz.

The Ravens had a good shout for a penalty for handball by Tom Wynter turned down and Waldren had another effort blocked on the line, but Dover steadied things again and had two late chances with Forecast saving well from Ollie Schultz and Barry Cogan firing wide.

The second half started evenly, George Purcell forced a save from Forecast but then on 53 minutes the visitors were reduced to ten men when Shane Huke was sent off or an elbow on Mike Jones.

Mark Goldberg made three substitutions to try and go for a more attacking approach, but despite The Ravens best efforts the closest they came was with two Warren McBean headers that lacked direction and power. Dover comfortably saw the game out and Nicky Forster’s side deserve great credit for the way they coped following the red card.
