This weekend the British Drift Championships kicks off its 2013 season right here in the Garden of England.
Lydden Hill will play host to the first round of this season’s championship on what is a massive weekend for motorsport.
There will be some familiar names taking part in the BDC as well as some newcomers and young pretenders to the crown. It promises to be another fine season in the BDC and there is no better place to kick it all off than Kent’s very own Lydden Hill circuit.
The SATS Motorsport team will once again be competing alongside other seasoned veterans such as 2JZ Power plant and Japspeed. Defending Champion Paul Smith will be back for the Japspeed boys in 2013, but they have yet to announce their final driver for this season as yet.
Acorn Motorsport are back this season and are looking to push on up the rankings after bedding themselves in over the last few seasons. The SkidRoh team are back but are now competing under the name of their title sponsor and will be known as the Car Loan 4U Drift Team.
As well the established teams and the up and coming boys there are also some familiar names returning to the drifting arena.
The 2010 Champion and Driftworks head Phil Morrison is returning to the Championship full time, after only competing in one round last year.
You can watch all the action at Lydden Hill this weekend on both Saturday and Sunday, with entry £10 on Saturday, £15 on Sunday and if you fancy camping you can do that for £5 per person per night.
