Bristol Pitbulls 2-5 Invicta Dynamos

Goals from Justin Noble, Adam Copland, Callum Best, Ryan Ellis and Callum Fowler saw the Invicta Dynamos return to winning ways on Sunday evening as they overcame the Bristol Pitbulls 5-2 at Frogmore Street in the ENIHL South Division 1.

Despite icing just fourteen players, with Michael Timms, Adam Copland, Alastair Band, Grant Baxter, Ryan Giles and Corey Watkins all unavailable for selection, the Invicta Dynamos made the brighter start on the road in Bristol and took the lead in the fifth minute.

The second line trio of Callum Best, Callum Fowler and Justin Noble secured the breakthrough with the Canadian ‘import’ the man to put the puck over the line for the 1-0 edge. It was all tied up by the break though as Bristol answered through forward Shannon Taylor to make it 1-1 come the buzzer.

In the second frame the Dynamos then restored their slender lead just under midway through when a long drive from Adam Copland saw him beat new Pitbulls goalie Chris Douglas to record an unassisted strike and a slender lead going into the last. That effort was cancelled out early in the third as Yousif Abu Saada restored parity once again with a shot beyond Andy Moffat whilst the netminder had a two minute tripping minor ticking over on the scoreboard.

The visitors had the better of the frame though and three more without reply saw them go on to claim the two points and their second win in Bristol this season. Callum Best claimed the first of the trio, after work from Justin Noble and Anthony Lennon, whilst Canadian Ryan Ellis made it 4-2 with Lennon claiming another assist and Tom Dennis also recording a point.

The final strike then came eight minutes from time as Callum Fowler reaped the rewards of another fine performance and celebrated a goal against Chris Douglas that provided a three goal cushion and effectively sealed the win.

So it was another two league points picked up in Bristol for the Dynamos who put the disappointment of a defeat in Cardiff the night before behind them to make a swift return to winning ways. Man of the match awards on the night went to Chris Douglas of the Pitbulls whilst the in form Callum Fowler took the honours for the visitors.

From here the Dynamos now prepare for a home tie against the rejuvenated Bracknell Hornets with the Berkshire outfit arriving in Gillingham for a 5.15pm faceoff.
