MotorSport Vision Racing (MSVR) launched its 2013 season at Brands Hatch at a dedicated media event ahead of its busiest ever year of motorsport.
MSVR will organise a total of 37 meetings across seven premier UK circuits between March and November.
MSVR is the race organising division of MSV, and also administers 22 successful car championships and series. Vehicles from the majority of its categories were present at the Kent circuit for the event and representatives from each of them were interviewed on stage by MSV Chief Executive Jonathan Palmer, who explained the ethos behind MSVR and what’s driven its continued growth.
He commented: “It’s absolutely fundamental to us that we don’t just operate championships that run with us, but help them to continue to be extremely successful and look after their futures too.
“The great thing about MSVR is the energy, the enthusiasm, the motivation from each of the disciplines we represent. As MSVR we get great satisfaction from working together in partnership to build these things up, and it’s the great mixture of different types of racing that’s terrific. National motor racing in this country really is in great health and particularly when there is real energy and cooperation between the key parties involved in making it so.”
Assembled guests also heard from three new series for 2013 – the BRDC Formula 4 Championship, which has just confirmed its fourteenth driver, the Radical SR1 Cup and the Atom Cup, the first category for the popular lightweight supercar. Former GP3 driver Alice Powell meanwhile announced her participation in the MSVR-run F3 Cup with Mark Bailey Racing.
The press conference was followed by one-to-one interview opportunities for attending media and then a number of test sessions and passenger rides on circuit, including an extended run for the F4 car and a spectacular Euro NASCAR racer representing this June’s American SpeedFest – set to be one of the biggest events at Brands Hatch this year.
Other series taking to the track included tin tops from the MSVT Trackday and Team Trophies, Mk2 Golf GTI Championship, VAG Trophy/MK4 Golf GTI TDI Challenge, Mini Challenge, Production BMW Championship and Project 8 Racing Saloons.
They were joined by sports cars from the GT Cup, Lotus on Track Elise Trophy, Lotus Cup UK, Lotus Cup Europe, Radical Clubman’s Cup, Radical SR3 Challenge, Radical SR1 Cup and Radical European Masters.
The action was completed with single seaters from the F3 Cup, Champion of Brands, Monoposto Championship and SuperSeries.
