Lee Bowyer received a three match touchline ban, plus a £1,750 fine for the red card he received at Wimbledon last week.
Bowyer will have to watch today’s game at Doncaster, plus the home games with Portsmouth and Burton from the stands. He will be in constant touch with the bench by mobile phone though.
Here is the FA’s statement:
”Charlton Athletic manager Lee Bowyer will serve a three-match touchline ban after using abusive and/or insulting language towards the match referee in both the 46th minute and following his dismissal during the EFL fixture against AFC Wimbledon on 23 February. He has also been fined £1,750.”
Jason Euell’s Under-23 team beat Sheffield Wednesday 4-1 at The Valley on Friday afternoon.
Josh Parker with a brace, and Reeco Hackett-Fairchild were amongst the goalscorers.
It suggests that Lyle Taylor and Igor Vetokele – who had a run out with the Under-23s on Monday – will be the only strikers on view at Doncaster.
It may be that Bowyer will opt to play 4-2-3-1 for at least part of the match.
