Charlton Athletic manager Lee Bowyer has until 6.00pm on Thursday to respond to an FA charge.
Bowyer is alleged to have used foul and abusive language when speaking to the match officials during the game at Kingsmeadow on Saturday.
To clarify, Bowyer did not receive two yellow cards. He was shown a yellow, then a straight red for follow up comments made to Chris Kavanagh.
This is obviously more serious than being dismissed for picking up two yellows.
The most likely outcome is Bowyer will be fined and banned. For how many games is hard to tell, but players miss three games when they are given a straight red.
Bowyer will still be able to communicate with the bench though. On Saturday, Grant Basey brought a mobile phone to the bench as soon as Bowyer was given his marching orders.
The manager should know his fate before the weekend.
