As transfer deadline day drew to a close yesterday evening, Gills boss Justin Edinburgh was busy trying to add to his squad.

He did just that with highly rated Bournemouth defender Baily Cargill joining the club on loan until January.

The 21-year-old who has played for the England Under 20 side, goes straight into the squad for the Gills home game against Sheffield United this weekend live on Sky Sports.

Cargill has seven under 20 caps, and he has also played for Bournemouth ten times so far in his short career, mainly in cup competitions.

It could prove to be a good bit of business for the Gills with the Chairman, Manager and Director of Football working hard over the summer to bring in the 12 additions that Justin Edinburgh has in his squad now.
