Boreham Wood v Bromley preview

Bromley continue their busy National League schedule on Tuesday night when they travel north to Meadow Park in Hertfordshire to face Boreham Wood.

The Ravens go into the game following a 2-2 home draw with Maidenhead Utd on Saturday, Neil Smith’s side having lead 2-0 at half time before eventually conceding an injury time equaliser in the second half.

The result saw Bromley drop to thirteenth in the table with 30 points from 21 league games, but they are still only 5 points off the top seven play off places.

Boreham Wood currently sit in eighth place with 33 points from 22 matches. On Saturday Luke Garrard’s side won 3-2 at Altrincham with goals from Smith, Tshimanga and Whitely putting Wood into a 3-0 lead before the hosts battled back to make it a nervy ending.

Wood have won three of their last five matches, losing twice.

When the sides met at Hayes Lane in November they drew a very entertaining game 1-1, Sorba Thomas putting Wood into an early lead before Michael Cheek equalised for Bromley just before half time.

Cheek is Bromley’s top scorer this season with 12, while Thomas has since joined Championship club Huddersfield Town.

Games between The Ravens and The Wood are typically close fought encounters, having been promoted to the National League together back in 2015, they are familiar opponents having risen through the Isthmian League into the National League structure on similar paths over the past few years.

The match takes place behind closed doors as per Covid 19 restrictions, with Boreham Wood live streaming the games for £9.99, details on how to purchase this are on the official club website.
