After last weeks’ FA Cup success Bromley are back in National League action on Saturday when they travel to Meadow Park to face Boreham Wood.
The Ravens were given a high profile home draw against Peterborough Utd in the FA Cup First Round last Monday, but prior to their impeding cup fixture Neil Smith’s side have three more league games to play, starting with a difficult trip to Hertfordshire to face Luke Garrard’s team.
The sides are well known to each other having competed in the same leagues for many years and finished first and second in National League South back in 2014/15, Wood gaining promotion via the play offs having been pipped to the title by Bromley.
This season the home side are currently eleventh in the table with 22points from 16 games, while The Ravens are fifteenth with two points less from the same matches. Wood defeated Dagenham & Redbridge 1-0 in their FA Cup replay in midweek after drawing 2-2 with The Daggers at home last Saturday. Bromley edged out Gloucester City 1-0 last weekend thanks to a free kick from Frankie Raymond, which extended their unbeaten run to five games.
During the week winger Bobby-Jo Taylor joined Dover on a month long loan, but Neil Smith should now have striker Joe Quigley available after his debut was delayed last weekend due to issues releasing him from his registration with Maidstone in time.
This time Last season when they teams met at the same venue the game ended 2-2 and this will be another tight contest between two good footballing sides looking to edge closer to the top seven.
