Bromley ended their run of four straight losses with a hard fought point at Meadow Park on Saturday, defending for long periods and keeping a much needed clean sheet.
Wood started the game on the front foot with early chances, Angelo Balanta missing a good chance from close range when Ross Flitney missed a cross.
Bromley battled back with Louis Dennis firing over after a series of corners and Dave Martin fired wide from distance, but they very little change from impressive centre back David Stephens.
The second half began with Wood pushing again, Tom Hitchcock hit the post from a tight angle and Jai Reason had a free kick saved by Flitney.
As the home side continued to press Jack Holland cleared a corner off the line before Dennis had Bromley’s only shot of the half which Grant Smith saved low down to his right from a corner.
Then in injury time Flitney pulled off the save of the match when he kept out Ben Nunn close range effort follwoing a great ball from Femi Ilesanmi.
In the end a draw suited both sides who were on poor runs and Neil Smith will be hoping they can build on this show of character and resilience.
Bromley now travel to Welling United in the Kent Senior Cup on Tuesday looking to give the season some more incentive in the final two months.
