“It was a good opportunity for me”, said Bollinger, when KSN caught up with him the day after his arrival in England.

“It’s a good place and a good team, and a good opportunity to come over and keep playing cricket and keep having fun with the game. They’re all great guys, which helps a lot, and I want to help coach some of the younger guys too with their bowling.”

“I think just trying to help the younger blokes and trying to help the boys win games is the most important thing”, he said, before adding: “…and still having a good time! If the boys can have a good time, the rest of it usually folds into place.”

“Hopefully some of the younger guys can learn off what I do, and I can help them with whatever they need”, Bollinger said.

“If I can get that bit out of them, that will be good. Hopefully I can help them take a few wickets on the way.”

Bollinger was introduced to the squad yesterday morning, and spent time with his new teammates during the final day of Kent’s pre-season game against Loughborough MCCU at Canterbury.

“I got in yesterday morning and the guys have been very good while I’ve been hanging around”, he said.

“I sat in the changing room all day with them and just had a bit of a chat and they were fantastic – very welcoming. It was a good way for a couple of blokes to get runs in a practice game before the [Championship] game on Sunday, too.
