It will be an early start for the Addicks on Tuesday morning. They will head north on the 9.30 from Euston for the game at Blackpool.
With just twelve games left, Charlton need to produce a consistent run of form.
Karl Robinson has another injury to contend with, on loan winger Sullay Kaikai will miss this game.
The Bloomfield Road playing surface is one of the worst in the league and is certain to be heavy, as Robinson acknowledged:
“Whatever team that goes there is going is going to have that same problem. Blackpool are a footballing team, so it will affect them as much as it will affect us. But it is what it is.
“We’re going to have to go there with the right mentality. The team has been picked, the players are ready, we go up there on Tuesday morning and hopefully will make inroads into the points tally we need to accumulate.”
The manager will have decisions to make, and may decide not to risk players such as Chris Solly and Tariqe Fosu.
The pitch will not be conducive to his preferred neat passing style, and he may have to be more direct.
Blackpool are in reasonable form. They have lost only one of their previous six fixtures, they went down 3-0 at table topping Blackburn in their last outing.
But they recently got a draw at Shrewsbury, and won at Wigan, so it will not be easy for Robinson’s team.
The Addicks may look something like this:
Amos; Konsa, Bauer, Pearce, Page; Aribo, Forster-Caskey, Marshall, Reeves, Zyro, Magennis.
Subs: Maynard-Brewer, Solly, Sarr, Lennon, Jackson, Fosu, Ajose.
Trevor Kettle from Rutland will be the referee.
Charlton have a difficult run in, and this is a game they really need to win.
