Charlton have a good recent record at Ewood Park. A stunning strike from Dale Stephens and a goal from Yann Kermorgant sealed a 2-1 win two seasons ago and a Simon Church strike was enough to seal the points last season.

Blackburn

Bob Peeters would dearly love to make it three wins in a row at Blackburn, his misfiring side have not won since beating Reading at the Madejski in early November.

Victories have been thin on the ground for the Addicks of recent times, they have won just twice since the end of September.

Rovers have also suffered a dip in form recently, picking up just one point from the last nine. Brentford beat them at Griffin Park last week and they lost to Sheffield Wednesday in their last outing at Ewood Park.

Blackburn currently lie just outside the play-off zone, so will be looking to get back to winning ways.

Like many side in the Championship, they are stronger in attack than defence. Tal Ben Haim and Andre Bikey will face a tough afternoon against Rudy Gestede and Jordan Rhodes.

Peeters will again be without Stephen Henderson, Rhoys Wiggins, Johnnie Jackson and Franck Moussa.

Nick Pope came in for criticism after the Blackpool game and will be hoping for a better afternoon at Ewood.

Joe Gomez came in at right-back last week as Peeters pushed Chris Solly into midfield to compensate for the loss of Francis Coquelin and Jackson.

Peeters may opt to do the same again and Gomez is likely to be joined by Ben Haim, Bikey and Morgan Fox at the back.

Charlton may keep the diamond shaped midfield they utilised against Blackpool with Yoni Buyens at the base, Solly and Jordan Cousins in the middle and Johann Gudmundsson just behind the frint two.

Peeters has been impressed with Callum Harriott’s recent efforts and although he was not as effective against Blackpool, he may well keep his place.

Igor Vetokele picked up a calf strain at Reading and has also carrying an Achilles injury. The top scorer has, naturally, struggled since then and Peeters may decide it is wiser to give him a break.

Simon Church made his comeback in an Under-21 game earlier in the week but is still some way off full match fitness. George Tucudean is Harriott’s likely partner if Vetokele is rested.

Peeters may opt for this team:

Pope; Gomez, Ben Haim, Bikey, Wiggins; Buyens, Solly, Cousins, Gudmundsson; Tucudean, Harriott.

Subs: Etheridge, Onyewu, Wilson, Bulot, Pigott, Ahearne-Grant, Vetokele.

The referee will be Lancashire’s David Webb.

The Addicks have drawn too many games this season but Peeters would probably be happy with a thirteenth stalemate.
