It’s two games on the road for the Invicta Dynamos this weekend as they begin a period of five games in nine days.
Kevin Parrish’s side have only been beaten the once in their last thirteen outings and go into this weekend sitting second in the NIHL South, five points behind league leaders, Chelmsford Chieftains.
Having drawn 4-4 at home to the Wightlink Raiders on Sunday night, the two teams will do battle again this Sunday, this time at the neutral venue of Solent & Gosport, due to the Isle of Wight side being unable to use their rink.
Before that, the Dynamos make the trip to Bracknell Hornets on Saturday evening looking to extend their unbeaten run.
However, they will travel without defenceman Andy Henderson who has returned to Scotland as he has been offered the chance of a career back home.
The loss of Henderson will come as a big blow to a Dynamos side that have utilised the talented defenceman on their top line this season.
With Adam McNicoll back available, the Dynamos may be tempted to press him into more action after making his return to the side last weekend.
For Steve Osman, this is a weekend that he feels the side need to get maximum points from if they want to challenge for the league title:
“If you look at the calendar there’s some games you know you should be winning, but the games against Wightlink are huge, because if they get one over on us they could be battling for second or even first,” said Osman.
“It’s really important that we do the best we can against the teams around us like Wightlink and Streatham so we can keep the pressure on Chelmsford.”
Meanwhile, Head Coach Kevin Parrish wants his side to focus on the job in hand and take each game as it comes:
“It’s a tough nine days ahead with five games. Mentally, the guys will need to stay strong as four of those games are away from home.”
Once this weekend is out of the way, the Dynamos are back in action again on Thursday night as they face the Chelmsford Chieftains in the South East Trophy over in Essex.
