With the season now in full swing, Kent’s football teams are looking to build on their opening weekends with some positive results throughout the county.
There’s a chance for plenty of clubs to pick up six points with fixtures on Bank Holiday Monday as well.
In the National League Bromley are one of three unbeaten sides after five games. It’ll be a tough weekend for Neil Smith’s team as they travel to another unbeaten team-Dagenham and Redbridge- on Saturday before hosting high flying Sutton two days later.
The only other team who are yet to taste defeat in 2016-17 are Ebbsfleet United. Afteer they were sent out of the Kent Senior Cup by Bromley over the weekend they’ll look to return to form against Gateshead. Daryl McMahon’s ide then make the trip east to Dover on Monday.
Before the Whites face Ebbsfleet on Monday afternoon, they’ll need to make the long trip to Macclesfield on Friday night. It’s been a big week on the coast for Chris Kinnear’s team after they signed former Chelsea youth payer Aziz Deen-Conteh on Thursday. The 19 year old defender could be available this weekend.
Maidstone have had an indifferent start to the season, taking five points from their opening five matches. They face a tough few days when, after travelling to Sutton on Saturday, they welcome Dagenham and Redbridge to the Gallagher Stadium on Monday afternoon.
In the National League South Dartford start their weekend with a trip to Hemel Hempstead before they host East Thurrock. With two wins they have the chance to go top, as long as other results go their way.
Elsewhere, Welling have welcomed Harry Phipps from Maidstone ahead of their two matches this weekend. The versatile player has come into the Wings’ squad on loan and is available for both their trip to Oxford City on Saturday and their game at home against Hampton and Richmond Borough.
Moving down to the Bostik Premier, Tonbridge Angels will look to continue their good start to the season when they make the trip to Harrow Borough on Saturday. They’ll then be part of a Kent derby when they welcome Folkestone Invicta on Monday.
Before Invicta travel to Longmead on the final game of their weekend, they need to see off the challenge from Needham Market.
Margate will also be looking for six points in the third tier this weekend. After dropping two points last weekend they’ll look to get back on track this weekend at Wingate and Finchley on Saturday before welcoming Dorking to Hartsdown Park on Monday.
The highlight of the Bostik South on Saturday comes at Homelands where an all Kent clash sees Ashford welcome VCD Athletic. Elsewhere Cray welcome Molesey, Sittingbourne face Lewes in Sussex, Herne Bay host Chipstead and Ramsgate face Hastings United in Thanet. Faversham also travel to Walton Casuals whilst there’s another Kent derby in the North of the county where Faersham travel to Phoenix Sports.
On the final day of this hectic weekend of football there are a number of all Kent matchups including Sittingbourne vs Ashford, Faversham vs Herne Bay and Hythe vs Ramsgate. VCD also welcome Thamesmead to Crayford whilst Cray travel to Shoreham.
