Big changes for Maidstone Pumas
Big changes for Maidstone Pumas

Maidstone Pumas have announced a new Head Coach as they look to get back into training for the new season ahead.

After a difficult 2012 season Head Coach Rory Hunte tendered his resignation to the board and after discussion it was decided
that it would be in the best interests of the organisation to look to start afresh for the 2013 season.

With a great deal of opportunities being explored to build the Pumas for 2013 and beyond and conscious that they have missed the opportunity to have fully productive off seasons for a number of years it was also agreed that a new Head Coach be appointed as soon as possible.

Therefore it was announced that Coach Olly Dracup has been offered and has accepted the position of Head Coach with immediate effect.

Coach Dracup has great deal of experience of the Pumas organisation and was a very productive member of the coaching staff throughout last year.

Meanwhile, the Maidstone Pumas have revealed their new kit for the 2013 season, with many more new and exciting opportunities in the pipeline that will help push the organisation forward towards the future there is nothing better than a nice shiny new shirt to wear on the field.

As part of their commitment to building team identity, unity and support replica shirts are available and can be personalised, contact maidstonepumas@gmail for more details.

Pre-Season training will start on Sunday 23rd September at 10:30am at New Line Learning, Boughton Lane, Maidstone.

This will herald the earliest start to pre-season for a number of years and will give their new Head Coach, Coach Dracup, a chance to outline his plans and schedule for the next few months.

It is a chance for the experienced players to blow off the cobwebs and get back into the swing of things and for the rookies to speak to the coaches and learn a bit of what is expected of them in the coming months.

Everyone is welcome though this session is for the adult team and therefore you must be over 18 if you want to take part in training and while if you have kit you are welcome to bring it along, those that are new will only need the right attitude, sensible training wear and suitable footwear (studded boots would be best for training).

If you are new or have little experience of American Football don’t worry they will give you all the help you need to learn to play the game and they can find a position or role to suit anyone.

If you are new to the game or would like further information contact them at [email protected]
