This is exciting times for Bearsted as not only did they get their highest points tally in the Southern Counties East Premier Division they are going to have a 3G pitch installed and a new Clubhouse built for the 2025-2026 season.
Today was not a classic but Bearsted were a little more clinical than Fisher who could have been out there for another 3 hours without scoring.
The game was a usual end of season affair with both sides having nothing to play for & a few half chances came but apart from that it wasn’t a classic.
Fisher had the first half chance of the game when in the 7th minute Jacob Katonia 20 yards out tried his luck forcing Frankie Leonard to push it around the post, in the very next minute Bearsted had their first chance when Conrad Lee got to the by-line & his low cross saw Robbie Roberts flicked shot pushed away by Sam Nwabuko.
Then Ollie Freeman got free & his shot from 10 yards was saved by Nwabuka’s feet & came back to Freeman & his bicycle kick shot went over the bar.
Both sides were trying to play football but kept on breaking down in midfield then in the 25th minute Will Johnson-Cole on the left cut inside & saw his 25 yard shot go just past the post, three minutes later & Mehat Clazice in the area passed back to Flavio Jimo & his 15 yard shot went past the post.
Another half chance came in the 35th minute when Dieko Falade 20 yards out tried his luck but again it went past the post. Fisher had the last two chances of the half when in the 37th minute Katonia saw his 20 yard shot go past the post & then a minute later Jemovany Kinzoazi picked up a clearance & again his shot from 25 yards went wide.
Half time arrived & the crowd were hoping for a better second half.
The second half started a little bit better than all of the first half when in the 52nd minute a ball out to Freeman who put Roberts in & his low cross was put out for a corner.
Two minutes later Falade saw his shot pushed out by Nwabuko but only to Roberts & his shot was saved. In the 58th minute Johnson-Cole again saw his 20 yard shot go just past the post.
In a rare attack Fisher nearly scored when Katonia in the area saw his shot from an angle flash across the area with no one able to get a foot to it. In the 75th minute Bearsted should have scored when Jordan Tingley got to the by-line & his low cross to the back post found Johnson-Cole whose shot from 5 yards saved by Nwabuko.
In the 81st minute Bearsted finally did score when Enola Hassan on the left crossed to the back post where Johnson-Cole was & he passed to Freeman who shot home from 8 yards. Bearsted wrapped up the points in the 88th minute when Johnson-Cole saw his 20 yard shot go into the bottom right hand corner of the net.
