Robbie Neilsen was officially unveiled as Milton Keynes Dons’ new manager on Monday morning.
Neilson’s assistant at Hearts, Stevie Crawford, will take up the same position at stadium:mk. It almost certainly means that Richie Barker will leave the Dons, and probably team up with Karl Robinson again.
If Barker does arrive at The Valley, it would raise questions about Kevin Nugent’s future in SE7.
If Robinson and Barker are reunited, they will make a swift return to their former stomping ground, when the Addicks travel to Milton Keynes for their FA Cup replay next week.
The winners will face Brighton at the Amex in Round Three. It was not the most exciting of draws, a difficult away tie against a familiar opponent.
Bolton will play Crystal Palace at the Macron in their Third Round tie , so their League One clash with Charlton on 28 January may well go ahead as planned.
Jason Euell’s Under-23 side defeated Fulham 3-1 in a Premier League Cup clash at Greenwich Borough’s ground on Monday evening.
Josh Umerah’s brace – one a penalty – plus a Joe Aribo strike, put the Addicks firmly in the box seat, before Cauley Woodrow notched a consolation for the Cottagers after 71 minutes.
