The Invicta Dynamos have confirmed that 22 year old blue liner Tom Avery has this week been released from the club.
Head Coach Kevin Parrish has set about making changes to his side following a difficult start to 2012/13.
After rising through the ranks in Bracknell, and going on to secure playoff honours with the Chelmsford Chieftains in 2011/12, defenceman Tom Avery arrived at the Dynamos in the summer to bolster a rear guard that would feature three new faces. He would then don the club’s shirt a total of 21 times, managing six points in the process, including five assists to accompany a well taken goal against the Peterborough Islanders. Now though, following four months in Kent, the blue liner has been released from his contract and is free to explore other playing opportunities.
Speaking briefly on the departure of Tom Avery, Head Coach Kevin Parrish reiterated the need for changes within the team but passed on his best wishes for the outgoing blue liner.
Parrish said, “The 2012/13 season has not started as well as we would like and a few alterations are needed to make us competitive for the remainder of the campaign. Tom has found his ice time limited in recent weeks so I have made the decision to release him from his contract. Naturally I would like to take this opportunity to wish him all the very best for the future”.
The departure of Tom Avery cuts the Dynamos roster to nineteen as Head Coach Kevin Parrish tinkers with his side in a bid to improve the club’s form come the turn of the year.
The team are next in action on Saturday as they travel to Cardiff to take on the NIHL Devils before returning home for clash with the Streatham Redskins in what will be the club’s final fixture before Christmas.
