The sprinter from Orpington enjoyed a fantastic 2018, setting British records on her way to winning the 100m and 200m European titles after a Commonwealth bronze in Australia.
She also enjoyed success in the relays, picking up another Commonwealth medal alongside a continental gold in Berlin, ending the year ranked as the fastest woman in the world.
“It’s one of my favourite meets in the world and holds some really special memories for me, like breaking the British 100m record and going under 11 seconds for the first time in 2015,” she told British Athletics.
The Muller Anniversary Games have proven a lucky turf for British athletes, with the likes of Sir Mo Farah and Laura Muir putting in stellar performances in front of a home crowd in 2017.
And for Asher-Smith, the event can provide a perfect platform on which to launch a pivotal year for the sprinter.
“This year is all about getting the balance right and choosing my races carefully, so with the Muller Anniversary Games being held at a key point in the season ahead of the World Championships it’s an event that will serve as a big part of my preparations for Doha,” said the Olympic bronze medallist.
The Muller Anniversary Games will take place on 20-21 July at the London Stadium, before the World Athletics Championships in Doha take centre stage in September.
