After some tough results, Welling United supporters who travel were rewarded by seeing their team enjoy a resounding victory at Altrincham.FOOTBALL (WELLING AWAY)

Jamal Fyfield headed wide from Harry Beautyman’s free kick in the opening minutes before the Wings were almost undone on the break but Nicky Clee headed Damien Reeves’ cross over.

Henly made a good save from Sean Williams but once Welling went ahead, their confidence rose, whilst the hosts’ slumped, and the outcome was never in doubt.

Joe Healy showed why he had been returned to the starting line up with a deft ball through that Beautyman finished coolly for his sixth goal of the season.

After that, a neutral would have thought that the Wings were the home team with the only danger ro them coming on the break.FOOTBALL (WELLING AWAY)

Jake Gallagher had a shot blocked and Chris Bush had all the time in the world to advance before firing wide.

On 30 minutes, Tyrone Marsh dinked the second goal over Coburn at the end of a great move involving Healy, Ben Jefford and  Zach Fagan.

As the game went into first half injury time the Wings added a third when Jake Gallagher fired through a crowd of defenders to deceive Coburn.

There was still time for Altrincham to come close when Shaun Densmore’s free kick crashed back off the crossbar.

Marsh and Beautyman both had second half efforts saved and Aristide Bassele had an effort blocked  as Welling looked to build on their advantage.FOOTBALL (WELLING AWAY)

Bassele then had a header saved from a Beautyman free kick before Welling came desperately close as Marsh a deflection prevented Marsh from tapping in at the far post following another great move involving Sam Corne, Healy and Beautyman.

Steven Gillespie was well offside when he netted for the hosts and Reeves was unable to guide a deep cross on target in a futile attempt to get back into the game.

Substitute Jon Noule broke away but was crowded out only for Fyfield to follow up and fire over.

Nouble was again involved when Welling added a late fourth goal. He caught Tom Marshall in possession and the Altrincham defender attempted to haul him back. Although Nouble looked to have broken free, the referee stopped play, sent off Marshall and awarded Welling a free kick. Justice was done when Beautyman touched the free kick to Chris Bush, and the Wings defender fired home with the aid of a big deflection.FOOTBALL (WELLING AWAY)

Welling will now head into the big North West Kent derby with Dartford full of confidence.
