Welling United are back on their travels again this weekend, with a trip to newly promoted Altrincham.
Although the two teams have not met for many years, they were regular opponents in the 1990s.
Despite having performed well in all but one of their away games, Welling are still yet to claim their first point on the road. It took a highly contentious dismissal of Jon Nouble at Wrexham to turn their most recent away game against them.
Altrincham come into this game on the back of two heavy away defeats. They lost four nil at Kidderminster then five nil at Barnet. They have claimed two wins at home however, defeating Bristol Rovers and Dartford, both 2-1, and they will be hoping to bounce back against the Wings. Striker Damien Reeves will need some watching having already netted seven times this season, more than fifty per cent of the teams’ goals.
It is highly unlikely that Tobi Sho-Silva will be able to take any part but a week without a game, after a hard earned point against Gateshead, will help the other players recovering from knocks. Both Loui Fazakerley and Joe Healy should be in contention for a return to the starting line up.
More good news for Welling United manager Jamie Day is that Charlie Penny is now in full training following his injury in pre-season. The former Millwall man will be keen to make his Wings league debut and Day will be happy to freshen up his squad with a new face.
