All to play for this weekend
All to play for this weekend

With the season’s conclusion edging nearer there is still plenty for Kent’s footballing sides to play for.

A tough season for Gillingham continued on Easter Monday with a 3-0 loss at Charlton and their task gets even harder as they welcome high flying Fleetwood to Priestfield. With only two games remaining in the season a win for Ady Pennock’s team would secure safety in League One the 2017-2018. Pennock will be unable to pick Bradley Dack who had his suspension extended for two matches after his sending off at MK Dons.

Dover Athletic’s search for the final playoff place in the National League continues on Saturday when they host Torquay at Crabble. Chris Kinnear’s men need to shake off the disappointment of their loss against promotion hopefuls Aldershot.

The shots sit in the final playoff place but the Kent side have a game in hand over the Hampshire side.

Following their remarkable turnaround in the second half of this season, Maidstone United are now safe from the threat of relegation back to the National League South. It’s a good thing the Stone are already guaranteed safety as their final three games could prove to be very tough. This begins on Saturday when they travel west to face Forest Green Rovers before hosting Lincoln in midweek.

Bromley also only have league position to play for in the final seven days of the league calendar. They’ve sat comfortably in the mid table positions for the majority of the season and will look to build on the stability to improve for next season. Their final home game of the season against Guiseley is one of our featured games this weekend and you can read our full preview for the game here.

One of the biggest non-league matches of the weekend comes in the National League South this weekend when Ebbsfleet face Maidenhead in a top of the table clash. The two have battled for the top spot for the majority of the season but now a home win will mathematically put an end to Ebbsfleet’s title hopes. The match at Maidenhead’s York Road ground is already sold out.

Staying in the north of the county, Dartford already have their playoff place confirmed in the National League South but with disputes over other team’s grounds there is no way to tell who they may be playing yet. Instead they need to focus on a their final game at Princes Park this season when they entertain already relegated Bishops Stortford.

Margate are another team who are already preparing for a season in the Ryman Premier next season. Although their performances have improved in recent weeks, it wasn’t enough and they’ll be playing for pride when they travel to Oxford City.

Another one of our featured games tomorrow comes from Park View Road where Welling United, who have a secure mid table spot, host Hampton and Richmond Borough. You can read a full preview of the game here.

The Ryman Premier League comes to an end this weekend with just one of Kent’s sides needing three points. Folkestone Invicta’s first season back in the third tier of non-league hasn’t gone as they would have wanted but a win at Grays will secure safety. Anything else will force Neil Cugley’s team to depend on other results.

Elsewhere in the league Tonbridge Angels’ hope of playoff football has recently come to an end. They face Worthing at home to put an end to their season, but the focus will soon be on improving on this season and looking for promotion next year.

We have one featured game in the final weekend of both the Ryman North and South leagues this weekend as well. Following their 2-0 derby win at Phoenix Sports on Monday, we’ll see if Thamesmead can end the season on a high against Brentwood Town- a team just one point behind the ‘Mead.

Phoenix Sports will look to end the season on a high when they travel to Heybridge Swifts whilst VCD host Ware.

Our featured game in the Southern portion of the division comes from Faversham where they host another Kent team, Cray Wanderers, in the final weekend of their season. Neither team have anything other than league position to play for but they’ll both be looking to end their season on a high.

Elsewhere in the league, already relegated Chatham host Lewes to try and , Hythe travel to Horsham, Ramsgate welcome Molesey to Thanet, Sittingbourne are away to South Park and Hearne Bay make the trip to Whyteleafe.
