Defender Cheye Alexander has left Gillingham after the club, along with the player, decided to terminate his contract by mutual consent.
The 29 year old right back joined The Gills in the summer of 2022 on a two-year contract and scored four times in 76 appearances in all competitions.
However, he found it harder to secure a place in the starting eleven in recent weeks under Stephen Clemence and with the signing of Remeao Hutton from Swindon Town, found himself further down the pecking order at Priestfield.
Robbie McKenzie is seen as the second choice right back at Gillingham now and with just a few days before the transfer window closes, Clemence is keen to offload some players to make space in his squad for some new faces.
Alexander recently made his international debut for Saint Lucia in a 2-1 win over Guadeloupe and is expected to find a new club in the coming days.
