Towering central defender, Semi Ajayi, had been with the Addicks from Under-9 level.
He progressed to making the bench for the first team but was, somewhat surprisingly, only offered a 6-month deal this summer.
Ajayi decided to try his luck elsewhere and after a trial at Norwich, he trialed with Arsenal. The Gunners have awarded the Croydon born 19-year-old a 2-year deal.
The exit provisions for the match against Millwall will be back to normal following last season’s heightened security arrangements. Both sets of fans will exit at the same time with no restrictions on the routes that can be used.
The security risk was upgraded last season following incidents involving Charlton fans at the game at the New Den.
The arrangements could be revised if there are any incidents before or during the game.
