Wrotham based Airwaves Racing are ready and raring to go as the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship heads to Rockingham.Round 6 of the 2013 British Touring Car Championship.

In recent races the team have been finding their form and they have boosted by the arrival of the experienced Tom Onslow-Cole for the remaining three races of the season.

The NGTC Focus has found itself on the podium and solidly in the top ten in the last two rounds at Knockhill and Snetterton, and Oly Collins will be hoping to continue that trend this weekend.

Speaking ahead of the weekends racing, Collins said: “We’re going to Rockingham in a confident mood. We have some good data from last year to complement what we’ve learnt throughout this season. Both Mat and Aron have shown some great pace recently, at Snetterton in particular, and we expect the Focus to be strong this weekend.

“Liam had a great meeting at Knockhill and he’s keen to close the gap on Lea in the Jack Sears Trophy. So we’re aiming for podiums and wins in the final three rounds of 2013.”

With Tom Onslow-Cole now part of the driver line-up for the remainder of the season it has the drivers revved up to try and build on the momentum and take the car further forward on the grid and onto the podium.

Giving his thoughts head of the racing, Aron Smith, said: ““After leading my first ever BTCC race at Rockingham last season I’m certainly returning with fond memories!

“Rockingham is more of a conventional racing circuit as opposed to Knockhill which I know will suit our car down to the ground. We saw how strong the car could be at Snetterton which as a circuit isn’t too dissimilar from Rockingham, so hopefully we’ll be back fighting at the sharp end this weekend.”

At Knockhill Liam Griffin found his form in the S2000 and needs wins this weekend as he bids to win the Jack Sears Trophy.

He said: ““Following the birth of my 3rd son I feel like I need to win all three races this weekend so he doesn’t feel left out!

“I’ve not raced at Rockingham for a couple of years but the S2000 Focus is not bad round there and I know I need to win at least one race this weekend to keep the Jack Sears Trophy title fight alive!”

Round 8 of the 2013 season takes place at Rockingham circuit on September 14/15.  Live coverage of Sunday’s events will be shown on ITV4, itv.com and also in HD from 10.45am – 6pm; with itv.com featuring live streaming online of Saturday’s qualifying session between 3.40 and 4.10pm.
